Vintage Reminder

Oh WOW it's been a long time since I have been able to make a card or post anything, as I have been moving and then I had to change my internet service and it took them a week and a half to do it, can you believe it !!!

April Challenge at Bizzy Becs , Texture!

Hi Everyone,

So sorry I didn't have this posted this morning for you , but the time just got away from me this week, it must be the last minute Easter rush lol.

But now on to the exciting part , we have a brand new challenge starting today at Bizzy Becs store blog, and the challenge is TEXTURE so we are asking you to use some type of material , eg fabric, hessian , felt , lace , ribbon, doily's etc, the theme this month was chosen by our very own DT girl Sally!

This card is for my Daughters birthday and of course she is turning Sweet 16 ! The beautiful lace behind the image is from my Mum's stash , it's so , so pretty irl, and I have edged it with more off white lace , very vintage I think, I used Unwrapped Tilda which is actually from a Christmas collection, but I thought she suits any day that presents come . lol. 

The gorgeous flowers are from Bizzy Becs and WOC. I have sponged the edges of the sweetheart blossoms with Memento desert sand ink to match my colour scheme, this pic also gives you a closer look at the SB Fleur De Lis square die I used behind the image , I thought I would give it a textured look too so I sponged it with three different colours of Kaisercraft paint, Violet , Egg Shell and Coastal Blue, I just used one of those cheap kitchen sponges , I cut a little square for each colour , wet them just a touch , then dab them in the paint and then off on scrap paper , and then on to the cut out die, it's an easy technique but very effective. Just make sure you only have a little of the paint on your sponge , otherwise it gets a bit blobby lol.

Here is a close up of Tilda, I sponged around the edge with more desert sand ink and added the scroll stamp for the corners .

Hi Everyone,

Well Easter is just around the corner and I have been working on a card for my friend at work, she has two little girls and I thought they might like Tilda with Eggs in her Apron!

I love Easter cards , they are always so bright and pretty, I have created a little scene with the Magnolia Lovely Fence Die, and have added grass under and on top of the fence, trying to make it look like it's growing through the fence , what do you think ? does it look real , I have also added some clouds for the background.

The Sentiment and the Eggs are from a Crafty Secrets set called Easter Joy.

The Tropical Flourish die is from Cherry Lynn dies and I cut it up to frame my image, the lace along the bottom is also by Cherry Lynn, they have the most beautiful dies!

The DP is from Nitwit collections digi paper, and the little ribbon is from my stash.

Here is a closer look at tilda , don't you just love that hair, so cute!

I have coloured tilda using my copic markers and prisma pencils and the clouds are inked in Memento Summer Sky.

Not a Card!

Hi Everyone,

Well it's been another flat out week , and thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

I have been trying to finish this project all week and finally got there today, MDUC this week asked for a colour combo of Pink , Orange and White, rather groovy I think lol.

I haven't done anything like this before , but I picked up this little box at the reject shop for $4 and decided to give it a go, it's for my daughter , she is always loosing bobby pins and hair clips , so I made this for all her pins and things to be in one place! Hopefully .......

It's a wooden box with a glass panel in the top where I have used DP , Doily and Tilda.

This is the inside, which I kept pretty simple, because it's for pins.

Here is a side view, I have used a Cherry Lynn Die and some ribbon from my stash.

This beautiful wood flourish is from Make it Crafty and was a free gift when I placed an order recently, I have painted it with Kaisercraft Hot Pink .

as I said before it's been one of those weeks, we have had a sick dog and it's been a real worry , but I think he has turned a corner now and is on the road to recovery.

For Mum

Hi Everyone,

Well it's almost time for Santa to come! I hope you are all ready ? Today I would like to share with you a card that I have made for my Mum & Sister.

They have both supported me right from the very beginning when I first made a very simple little card, I started off in papercraft by scrapbooking and I soon found that I had heaps of smaller pieces of paper that I didn't know what to do with ....... So I made a little card , no image just sentiments and they both thought how great it was, I never even knew that there was a whole world out there of Blogging and images and all the wonderful people that will help you along the way. I am so lucky that I looked into this world and have made so many great friends.

I just wanted to let my family know how much it means to me to have there support along this journey, so I have made them this thank you card.

When I saw the Challenge at MDUC this time all of a sudden I knew what I wanted to do. The challenge is a colour combo of Red , Cream and Gold, I don't know about you but sometimes when I see the challenges I struggle to come up with ideas, but not this time.

A close up of the image , I have used copic markers and prisma pencils to colour.

Here I have used Fleur De Lis Square die and gold embossing powder , I think this turned out really well , it looks a bit like old iron work to me.

The gorgeous flowers and branch with the gold embossing.

Christmas Challenge at Bizzy Bec's

Hi Everyone,

Well this Challenge couldn't be easier, cause I bet you all have been working flat out on your Chrissy cards., right! Yes the theme for our new challenge is Christmas at Bizzy Bec's store blog , I have created a Christmas scene to share with you.

I have used 2 Magnolia  stamps from the Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection Something for you Tilda and Welcome to a Sweet Xmas, I think she looks like she is just arriving to give her gift to someone special. 

I have used copic's and prisma pencils as I always do to colour, and I stamped Tilda first then masked her to put the background in, a little extra work but well worth it I think ! What do you think ?  The DP is also from Magnolia. The sentiment is computer generated and I cut it out with spellbinder die and used a fancy tag with foam dots. The flowers and corners are from WOC and the ribbon is from the bargin buy shop.

Bec will have more Magnolia stamps in when the new release comes out, so keep your eye's peeled for that because Bec always has them at fantastic prices, but while you are waiting for that release check out  

Bizzy Bec's for the huge range of other stamps, embellishments, cutting dies and lots more.

I have added another Tilda on the inside front of my card she is Unwrapped Tilda from the So Jolly / Under the Mistletoe Collection, the die under the ribbon is also from Magnolia and the other die is Fleur De Lis Pendants from spellbinders and labels three to cut out the image.

Holy Tilda

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well and happy, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the lovely comments you all made on my DT position, I appreciate each & every one.

Today I would like to share a card that my daughter requested for one of her favourite teachers for Christmas. Brittney (my daughter ) asked if it could be a little old fashioned and the first thing I thought of was maggies! 

I chose the lovely Holy Tilda from the new Sweet Christmas Dreams collection, she is such a cutie and I do love the hair do. I teamed her with Bo Bunny Father Christmas papers which are stunning IRL. The flowers are from WOC as are the gold corners, the border die is also from Magnolia and the ribbons are from my stash.

Here's a close up of Tilda that I coloured with Copic Markers and Prisma Pencils ( I will put the list at end of post ) I sponged around tilda with Antique Linen Distress Ink  for more of an aged look. I also used a gold gel pen for the dots and vine around the Holy , sorry you can't see it in the photo.

I decided to put the sentiment ( computer generated ) on the inside front and leave the other side so Brittney could write her own words.

Brittney has also asked for another Christmas card for a different teacher and the theme of this one is Bling so stay tuned I may be back soon to show you that one he he he ....

Milk Choc & Turkish Delight Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well, today I have a gate fold card to show you for the brand new Maggie Lovers Challenge Blog , Bron from Shopbron has started this new challenge for all of us that love our Maggies, now the theme is pink & brown or red & brown and as I said in my last post I would normally use the traditional red & green for chrissy! But that's what challenges are all about isn't it, to challenge yourself, and I did manage to fit in a little red & green, I couldn't help myself lol.

This is For You Tilda from the Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection, isn't she cute! and you can get her at  Shopbron I stamped tilda on Cordenons white cardstock, it's beautiful paper it feels like silk and is also available at Shopbron. The DP is from Nitwit Collections and the xmas tree is a clear stamp that I have had for ages. The flowers are from WOC, pearls from Kaisercraft.

For the inside I stamped the xmas tree again and added a little verse from Stamp-it.

I'm sort of heavy with photo's this time , I was trying to pick up the Kindy Glitz - Crystalina ( I hope you can see it ) also how the card opens. I coloured tilda with copic's and prisma pencils, I really like the combination of the two colour mediums together, I seem to be able to get better results when I use both.

Hi Everyone,
Today I have a Maggie card for you following the great sketch at Cute Card Thursday
I used one of my all time fav’s Sweet Tilda and coloured her with copics and I little bit of prisma pencils. Over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges they want to see texture, so I used this great DP, it’s like quilting, very hard to explain and I hope you can see in the photo, but the paper is sort of raised, any whoo I will stop trying to explain it and just show you the pic, I have had this paper forever and can’t even remember where I got it. I teamed it up with Making Memories Note Worthy.
  Everything on this card has had a really good dose of Walnut Stain distress ink, and I love how it gives that vintage feel. Just Magnolia are playing BINGO this week, which is great fun. I chose Ribbon & Lace / Flowers / Gems , the flowers & lace are from WOC and the pearls are from Kaisercraft, the sentiment is from Verve stamps. I also used spellbinder Heart circle die, and did some faux stitching around tilda, this is the first time I have done this, and didn’t do that well at it I am afraid lol.
Lots of room on the inside for a loving message to someone special. I think it’s important to leave plenty of room so the person giving the card can say how they feel.

Crafty Sunday

Hi Everyone,
Well this morning when I got up I had no intention of entering any challenges, but when I had a look around the blog world my brain went into overdrive and that was it! I have spent all my Sunday morning crafting, and what a lovely way to spend a Sunday lol.
I have created a card with a Magnolia stamp called Tilda with Hawaii Flower from the Butterfly Dreams Collection and I must say she is one of my favourites, and she fits perfectly with the MDUC flutterbys Challenge, the girls would like to see butterflies this week.

The lovely girls at Bunny Zoe Crafts Monthly Challenge would like to see Easel Cards and you still have heaps of time to enter this one, while you are there check out the candy on offer and all the new products that are coming in, it’s all very exciting YAY. Ok back to the card, the brown DP is digi from cuddly buddly and the pink DP is from Kaisercraft Blushed collection ( it’s an oldie but a goodie ), the CS is Bazzill.
Tilda is coloured with copics( list at end of post ) , the beautiful flowers are from WOC, I really love those browns ones they are called Walnut colour and I used a MS Branch punch. The borders are done with a Magnolia Doo Hickey die Old Swedish Lace. I used a lace doily from my stash with spellbinders Circle Hearts Die although it got hidden a bit with flowers . The white lace is from the Craft Queen, and I can’t remember where I purchased the butterfly charm.
Here’s the inside, with the very pretty lace butterfly which is also from the Craft Queen.
Just Magnolia would like to see funny sentiments this time, and to be honest I had a bit of trouble with this one, but I came up with this
and turned it into a little tag to go in the butterfly pocket, or you could always take the tag out and put a gift voucher in there instead.

Butterfly Jeans

Hi Everyone,
Before I get started with my card, I just wanted to say a huge hello and thank you to all my new followers, you make it all worth while.
Today I have a Tilda card for you, she is called Tilda in Butterfly Jeans, don’t you just love her hair, so cute! I have coloured her with copics and just a touch of pencils. Unfortunately I don’t have any Magnolia background stamps yet ( did you notice I said YET lol ) soooo I had to create my own background because she looked a little funny sitting there in mid air. The grass was done with copics & pencils and the clouds are sponged in with a great template from Bev Rochester and you can get yours HERE . Totally Tilda Challenge Blog would like to see Distressing this time and that’s just what I did with Antique Linen Distress ink around the image. I followed the sketch by Jane at Just Magnolia & Hanglar Stangler Challenge Blog.
The DP is Prima Botanicals 6x6 pad, and that absolutely gorgeous lace is also from Prima, Cute Card Thursday would like to see Lace this week, and Allsorts Challenge Blog for the month of July it’s Free & Easy theme, with a new challenge and prize each week, how great is that!
The flowers are from WOC and the Butterfly is a spellbinder die, pearls from Kaisercraft.
I have finished off the card inside to match the front with another butterfly and the edge is another touch of Magnolia with a border die. I left the card blank so you could use this one for any occasion.

Tilda in Boots

Hi Everyone,
Hope you have all had a crafty day like me, I have been very busy with this little Maggie in Rubber Boots. I have really tried to step out of my comfort zone lately and try different colours with Copic’s and was pretty happy with this creation.

For her dress and boots I used G20, G82 & YG93 and the hat has YG 93  & 97, her hair is a combo of E50 & E42 and I added a little dark brown 946 prismacolor pencil for her curls. The skin tones are the usual suspects E0000,000,00 with the exception of R01 for her cheeks. The DP is Kaisercraft English Rose paper pad , I really like this one, gorgeous papers! Flowers from WOC, Sentiment form Gina K Designs and lace is from my stash.
I followed a fab sketch from Bec at Creatalicious Challenges , and you still have plenty of time to enter this one.

A Spoon Full of Sugar wanted to see a get well soon creation, and Simply Magnolia said Anything goes, doesn’t everyone love those two words, couldn’t be any easier.
